  • 1 pound flank steak or sirloin thinly sliced against the grain
  • 2 cups fresh broccoli florets washed and cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 3 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 tablespoon ginger freshly grated
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce low-sodium if preferred
  • 2 tablespoons oyster sauce
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1/4 cup water to mix with the sauces and cornstarch
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil for stir-frying
  • salt and pepper to taste

Method
 

  1. Prepare the ingredients by washing and cutting the broccoli, slicing the beef, and mincing the garlic and ginger.
  2. Marinate the beef with soy sauce, oyster sauce, and cornstarch for at least 15 minutes.
  3. Blanch the broccoli in boiling water for 2-3 minutes, then shock in ice water.
  4. Stir-fry the marinated beef in a hot skillet for 3-4 minutes until browned.
  5. Combine garlic, ginger, blanched broccoli, and cooked beef in the skillet, add water, and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes.
