  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips (optional)

Method
 

  1. Gather all the ingredients listed.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the dry ingredients: flour, cocoa powder, sugar, baking powder, and salt. In a separate bowl, beat the eggs, then add milk, vegetable oil, and vanilla extract. Mix until smooth. Pour the wet mixture into the dry ingredients and stir gently until just combined. Fold in chocolate chips if using.
  3. Preheat the waffle iron according to the manufacturer's instructions.
  4. Lightly grease the preheated waffle iron. Pour 1/2 to 2/3 cup of batter onto the iron and cook for 4-5 minutes or until crispy.
  5. Carefully remove the waffles and serve with your favorite toppings.
