  • 0.5 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional) For those who enjoy a little heat.
  • to taste salt and pepper Essential for seasoning the dish perfectly.
  • 0.25 cup grated Parmesan cheese Adds a creamy, cheesy finish.
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped For garnish and a pop of color.

Equipment

  • large pot
  • large skillet

Method

  1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the bowtie pasta and cook according to package instructions, usually around 10-12 minutes, until al dente. Drain and reserve 1/2 cup of pasta water.
  2. In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant. Add ground beef, breaking it apart as it cooks until browned, about 5-7 minutes. Drain excess fat if necessary.
  3. Stir in Italian seasoning and red pepper flakes. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Mix well and allow flavors to meld for a minute or two.
  4. Add the cooked bowtie pasta to the skillet with the beef and garlic butter sauce. Pour in reserved pasta water and toss gently until well coated. Remove from heat and sprinkle with Parmesan cheese and parsley.
