Dough Ingredients
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • ½ cup unsalted butter, cold and cubed
  • ½ cup shredded cheese cheddar or your choice
  • 1 large egg
  • 4-6 tablespoons cold water
  • 1 cup cooked and crumbled breakfast sausage or bacon
  • ½ cup scrambled eggs
  • ¼ cup chopped green onions
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 egg for egg wash

Method
 

  1. Combine flour, salt, and baking powder in a large bowl. Add cold butter and mix until it resembles coarse crumbs. Stir in shredded cheese. In a separate bowl, whisk together egg and cold water, then gradually add to the flour mixture until a dough forms. Roll out the dough into rectangles.
  2. Mix together cooked sausage or bacon, scrambled eggs, green onions, garlic powder, and onion powder in a bowl for the filling.
  3. Cut rolled-out dough into smaller rectangles, place half on a baking sheet, spoon filling onto each, top with another rectangle, seal edges, and crimp with a fork.
  4. Brush tops with beaten egg, preheat oven to 375°F, and bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown. Let cool slightly before serving.
